Summary

A mini crawler crane is a compact, self-powered crane on a crawler chassis with lifting, boom, and slewing systems. It offers excellent mobility, quick setup, and versatile operation. Commonly using hydraulic drives, it is ideal for construction projects requiring efficient lifting in confined spaces.

A mini crawler crane is a crane equipped with a travel mechanism, lifting mechanism, boom swing mechanism, and slewing mechanism mounted on a crawler chassis. Featuring an independent power source, compact structure, relatively small dimensions, and excellent maneuverability, the micro crawler crane meets the mobility requirements of construction cranes. It is well-suited for construction needs, enabling immediate operation upon arrival at the worksite.

I. Overview of Micro Crawler Cranes

A micro crawler crane is a crane mounted on a crawler chassis, equipped with travel mechanisms, lifting mechanisms, boom-tilting mechanisms, and slewing mechanisms. Featuring an independent power source, compact structure, relatively small dimensions, and excellent mobility, it meets the mobility requirements of engineering cranes and is well-suited for construction needs, enabling immediate operation upon arrival at the worksite.

Based on transmission methods, mini crawler cranes are categorized into mechanical, hydraulic, and electric types. The mechanical type further divides into internal combustion engine-mechanical drive and electric-mechanical drive variants.

Currently, engineering cranes commonly employ the following composite drive systems:

Internal Combustion Engine-Electric Drive The primary distinction between internal combustion engine-electric drive and externally powered electric drive lies in the power source: the former utilizes an independent internal combustion engine, while the latter relies on grid power. In internal combustion engine-electric drive, a diesel engine typically powers a generator to convert mechanical energy into electricity. This electricity is transmitted to the working mechanism's electric motor, where it is reconverted into mechanical energy to drive the mechanism.

Internal Combustion Engine-Hydraulic Drive

Internal Combustion Engine-Hydraulic Drive is increasingly prevalent in modern engineering cranes. This trend stems primarily from two factors: first, converting diesel engine mechanical energy into hydraulic energy enables hydraulic transmission with numerous advantages; second, rapid advancements in hydraulic technology have significantly enhanced crane hydraulic transmission systems.

Specifications and Parameters of Mini Crawler Cranes

1. Lifting Device

The primary lifting device for mini crawler cranes is the hook (with auxiliary devices such as grabs or electromagnetic chucks).

2. Boom

A steel structure supporting the hoisting wire rope and pulley block, it can tilt to adjust the working radius. It is directly mounted on the upper slewing platform. The boom can be extended from its base length according to construction requirements. When necessary, a secondary boom can be mounted atop the main boom to expand the working range.

3. Upper Rotating Structure

This component comprises all parts mounted on the rotating platform except the boom, counterweight, and hook, enabling rotation during lifting operations.
